Cutsforth “A Life for Canby” is a book chronicling the life of Elsie
Cutsforth, one of Canby’s most inspiring and celebrated citizens. Oral
Historian and Author, Jim Strassmaier, interviewed Elsie over a period of
five months in 2000 and realized what started as an oral history project
soon developed into a publication of interviews and stories about her
remarkable journey through family hardships and struggles as well as the
impact Elsie made in the Canby community
through her generosity and tireless devotion to family, civic organizations
and countless individuals she touched through the years. Vintage photographs, Elsie’s family recipes and her wit and humor round out this very interesting travel through time.
“A Life for Canby” is now on sale and available at Cutsforth’s Thriftway and the Canby Depot Museum. The cost is $12.95, with all proceeds benefiting Canby Historical Society. ************************************************************** Canby Historical Society
