Canby Historical Society Exhibits

The Canby Depot Museum is full of vintage memorabilia depicting Canby's early days and we are always adding to or changing our exhibit displays. From pioneer farming tools to Native American artifacts, we have something for everyone's interest.

See below for some of our exhibits

  • Nostalgic school memorabilia
  • Knight and Lee photos history (Canby's founding families)
  • Our area flower growers display
  • The Yoder Store collection
  • Postal Service display
  • Our local doctor/dentist displays
  • Antique toys and telephone display (yes, actual rotary dials!)
  • The Jerry Spurlock Print Shop that was operational circa 1900 near Aurora

  • We have also had restored the Tryber & Sweetland (1899) pump organ from the Rock Creek Church, which now plays beautifully. If there is an organist out there who would like to try it out, you are most welcome!

There are many, many more exhibits on display, as well as hundreds of files in our history archives for student research, and notebooks full of vintage photos.

Do you collect something special? Although Canby Depot Museum has a growing list of private collections in our displays, we are always looking for more.

If you, family or friends collect something unique or mundane, we'd love to hear about it! Maybe we'll invite you to share your collection as a special exhibit or present it at one of our monthly public programs. Or maybe we'll turn to you as our local expert if we have questions about similar items. In any case, let us know what favorite things you collect.
